Hoarder Cleanup
Hoarder scenes are typically full of garbage, newspapers or magazines, dirty and discarded clothing, cans and bottles, rotten food, food wrappers, human faeces and urine, rodents and their droppings. The following concerning contaminants result directly :
- Human faeces — poor hygiene practiced by hoarders can lead to very bad contamination over a long period
- Hantavirus — filth and old food often leads to rodents being present
- Sharp objects — discarded objects including glass shards, sharp metal implements and syringes may be present
